Dr Akhil Bansal pulmonary function test spirometry Jaipur

Digital Lung Capacity Diagnostic

Pulmonary Function Test (PFT / Spirometry)

Precision measurement of lung volumes, airflow velocity, and bronchodilator responsiveness for Asthma, COPD, and surgical risk assessment.

What Spirometry Measures

Spirometry is a non-invasive pulmonary function test that records how much air you can inhale and how quickly you can blow it out. Dr Akhil Bansal uses digital equipment to measure FVC, FEV1, and the FEV1/FVC ratio, which helps separate asthma from COPD and restrictive patterns such as fibrosis. A bronchodilator repeat, when indicated, shows whether obstruction improves with inhalers. The same numbers guide inhaler dose changes, occupational screening, and pre-operative fitness. Wear loose clothing, avoid a heavy meal shortly beforehand, and follow clinic advice about withholding inhalers if a true baseline is required. PFT testing is available at the Pratap Nagar clinic as part of routine chest care in Jaipur.

Key Indications for PFT:

Diagnosis of Bronchial Asthma & COPD
Evaluation of Unexplained Breathlessness or Wheezing
Pre-Operative Fitness Assessment for Major Surgeries
Monitoring Response to Inhaler Therapy
Occupational Dust & Smoking Lung Damage Screening
